Janie's Sweets opened in 2008 after I convinced my Nana that pure, handmade
jam, jelly, and preserves was exactly what consumers were looking for.
The sweets that are made by Janie's Sweets are part of my family's tradition.
Every year berries were picked and put up for the winter by my great, great,
grandmother, my great grandmother, my grandmother, and my mom.
My great, great, grandmother lived over 100 years. She had stories and recipes
that dated back into the 1800's. In fact, her daughter, my great, grandmother
made a Watermelon Rind Jelly. That was something I never tried, but I am
looking forward to trying it in the near future.
The idea behind the company is that all the products will be natural, pure,
handmade, and beautiful. We hope that anyone who likes jelly, will learn to love
jelly, jam, and preserves in many different dining experiences. Jams and Jellies
can be served with wine and cheese, or with homemade scones, or even on meat
and fish. The possibilities are endless and the flavors are just as varied.
